Day in the life of?
6am: wake / coffee / yoga / work (always try a good mix of meetings & future planning, emails are the worst) / skateboarding / family / friends / ocean / BBQs
Fun fact that would surprise the team about you?
I have started my pilot’s license at Moorabbin airport and planning to finish my solo flight license by end of year.
What’s your passion for Merchandise?
It goes back a long way, I used to have a small skateboard company back in the late 90’s, we made, developed our own screens, and printed the boards and merchandise ourselves, loved the art of it and now the nostalgia.
After being in the corporate game for the last 15 years at Nike and adidas, my understanding of Process and structure driving a business, mixed with apparel assortments and offerings has increased and I’m now excited to use these learnings and apply them in the Merchandise game at Super Special.
Favourite concert or festival you attended and why?
Easy, Big Day Out Sydney 1992. The year Nirvana played, I was fortunate enough to be included in the Skateboarding Demo’s and had a random meeting with Kurt Cobain and Chris Novoselic as they were keen to check it out and share their thoughts on the hamburger they were eating.
In more recent times in Melbourne, we were attending a BBQ on the Yarra, I was approached by a very intimidating biker looking dude who I thought was going to beat me up, when in fact he just wanted to hand me 3 tickets to a Metallica concert, which ended up being front row and a great story to remember. Oh and they played like maniacs also.
I encourage everyone to have a think about this question, can bring back so many fun memories.
