Spotlight on Kristin Churley

What does a typical day in the life of Kristin look like?

I’m usually up at 6 to fit in some exercise (yoga or pilates) and a dog walk before work starts. A creature of habit, I militantly have the same breakfast every morning (smoothie with spinach, banana, peanut butter and almond milk). During lockdown, I’ll have lunch with my roommates or go for a walk.

What’s a fun fact about you that might surprise people?

I had a short lived career as an elite artistic gymnast between the ages of 5 – 7 years old.

What band or artist would you love to see perform live?

ODESZA – I managed to be out of town for both of their Melbourne shows during their last Australia tour for the ‘A Moment Apart’ album. It’s one of those albums that signposts a particular period of my life and because of the missed chances to see their amazing live show, ODESZA are at the top of my live show bucket list. That said, right now I’d take any live show I could get and can’t wait for music to come back so I can support as many Australian artists as possible.

What has become your lockdown go to?

My house has a tradition of throwing a dance party the first Friday night of every lockdown. It’s Melbourne’s most exclusive event with a strictly limited capacity: 4 roommates and 2 dogs. Costumes are mandatory and we’re kind enough to open our living room windows so passers-by can also have a boogie on their way past.
